Letter "L" in Old English

Interpretation of Crossbeam

By Lee Y. Martin, Ph. D.,©1998

As noted in the writing of the dream, I was gone when Jeannette received this message from the Lord. Due to its shortness, I considered dismissing it because it seemed unlikely we could obtain a valid interpretation since neither of us knew Latin. However, the Bible urges us to search out a matter, so I felt constrained to at least attempt to determine what the Latin inscription meant. I found a Latin teacher whose help was greatly appreciated. This teacher confirmed much of the initial interpretation I received from the Lord. The key to unlocking the message came when he corrected my thoughts of the phrase related to time. I had been looking backward to the last three years instead of forward to the next three years. When this was pointed out, all things fell into place. Naturally other English words could have been used to translate any given word, but the interpretation I have now fits the visual scenario and it aligns with scripture, a given in order to be from the Lord. Even though the vision is very short, we felt compelled to include it with those on our web site since it too is an endtime message. Because of a strange happenstance during our search, we were led to believe God was signifying there is more here than meets the eye. In many cases in which the Lord has given me an interpretation something unusual occurs to indicate that we are not contriving these messages with their interpretations. This has happened too often to be coincidental. Let me explain. Upon my return home from travel I received the vision from Jeannette who had spent numerous hours trying to learn the meaning of the Latin words. She did a commendable search on the Internet as well as through our local sources. I was amazed to see how well she had initially written down the sentence not having had any experience with foreign languages of any kind. Amazingly, I discerned a few words immediately even though it had been a great many years since I had tackled Latin as a youngster in High School. The oddity I am going to speak about happened at our local library.

I wanted to check out all the Latin Jeannette had given to me and the sources she had used before praying to ask the Lord for direction as to whether or not He had something there for me to see. At the Latin section of our library where Jeannette said she had gone I could not find the book Quotes in Latin from which she had retrieved the Latin phrase spoken by the soldier. So I asked the librarian if she could help me.
Still Life w/Bible; Still Life with Bible; Gogh, Vincent Willam van (1853-1890); 1885

She looked it up on the computer, which replied, "the book with this title ought to be here," i.e., in this slot in their catalogue file, "but we do not have (own) a copy of it."

That seemed strange to me because Jeannette insisted she used the book and had found the soldier's remarks in an exact quote save one word and that there was significance to it. I checked out the other words in the Latin dictionaries to confirm her findings and then left. I called Jeannette to ask her if she had gotten the book at the local college library instead of the public one. She said no and was very upset because they did not have the book. She hurried over to the library to find the lady who had pulled it off the shelf for her. The attendant remembered doing it. Obtaining her name for me to confirm the fact, Jeannette left the library. On the way out God spoke to her and said, "That was MY book." When she told me what she heard from the Lord, it dawned on me that the call letters, which she had written down in the day she was using the book, did not seem to match those of the Dewey Decimal System. 1 Also, when I asked how they were placed on the book's spine, she said all the letters were written horizontally across the spine from left to right part of them infringing upon the back's hard cover and part on the front's, which the Dewey system does not do.

In my estimation the mysterious appearance and disappearance of the book is as important, if not moreso, than the Latin quote Jeannette found in it, "Who would dare call the sun a liar?" If indeed, it was God's book placed in our library by angels for Jeannette to find and in which she was to discover the quote matching the soldier's comment, there must be a significant connection between "the sun," the illuminator of light and life; "the Son," the bread of life to whom the soldier was speaking; and "the Pope," of whom the soldier was referring when he made his scathing remark, "Who would dare call the Pope a liar?" Because of this incident I thought it best to continue the pursuit of the meaning of the Latin sentence.
hanging Covenants

Jeannette knew that the vision related to some future time because of the ambiance in which she found herself. Thus, the crux of the message is that at some point in the coming weeks and months it appears like the Pope (be it this one or a future one) is going to think about changing long-standing Christian truths and to substitute an imposter God for Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the only begotten Son of God.

Isa 24:5

5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. (KJV) 2

In the Old Testament in the book of 1 Kings we find the type of this endtime drama, the precedent for changing God's established laws and the reasons for doing so. When the Northern Kingdom of Israel split from Judah in the South, King Jeroboam of the North changed the times and the laws, which God had ordained for worship. He changed the months and the days declared by God for feasts (12:32). Golden Ram

He established two unauthorized places, Dan and Bethel, in which the people were to bring their sacrifices for worship (12:29,30). He fashioned two calves of gold (12:28) as gods to be worshipped in defiance of God's commandment against making any kind of graven images for gods and for worship. Finally, he "...made priests of the lowest people, which were not of the sons of Levi" (12:31). All these changes he devised in his own heart (12:33) in order to walk in his own way and not in the way of the Lord, for he believed that changing customs would wean the people away from serving the true God (12:27). In essence, this is the spirit of Antichrist which is exactly what the scriptures teach will occur in the last days before Jesus comes to establish His everlasting Kingdom upon earth.

Dan 7:25-26

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 3

From 2 Thessalonians 2:3 we learn that the son of perdition sets himself up as God in the Temple, 4 and thinks to replace the Lord Jehovah as God. Paul told the Thessalonians this bit of prophecy when he was with them (2:5), and he also wrote it in a letter for all members of the body of Christ to see (2:15). The import derived from the vision in question is that there is coming one who is going to usurp our Lord's authoritative power and right to rule. Jesus Christ has the right because in the first place, He is the creator of all, in the second place, He alone made the payment with His death to redeem the world from its former tyrannical ruler, and in the third place, He rose from the grave to begin taking custody of His ransomed possession. The thirteenth chapter of the book of Revelation describes this forceful tyrant who is going to be elevated to a position of the "manifested" God by a powerful False Prophet who authenticates the message of this lie with "...all power and signs and lying wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:9). Man is not, never has been, and never will be God, the first delusion promised to man by Satan in the garden of Eden. The revelation of the fact of his false Messiahship will become known to those believers who know the Word, for they will see his total unlimited, selfish, willfulness in opposing God's laws and in producing his own laws and associated feasts and worship days.

The Latin Declaration

Jeannette's recall of the Latin sentence is as follows:

"De solemn omnia annisus tribus proximis annis ego sum panis vitae sin textus."

Jesus Christ on the Cross

Whereas the Latin teacher's correction of the sentence to be consistent with Latin's highly inflected forms reads:

"De solemniis omnibus annisus tribus proximis annis ego sum panis vitae sine texto."

The following is a breakdown of the Latin words into English equivalent meanings using a Latin dictionary:

De solemn (or solemniis) - About (or concerning) solemn (or serious, in connection with religion)

omnia (or omnibus) - all (things)

annisus - a striving or exertion, pressure upon, muscular effort

tribus proximis annis - for the next three years

ego sum panis vitae - I am the bread of life

sin - if, on the contrary, if, however

textus - connection or a web, method of plaiting or joining, framework, structure (or sine texto - without question or without exception)

After making changes to conform to proper Latin grammar, the teacher's construction of the sentence can be translated to read:

"Concerning all serious or solemn things, for the next three years I (the Pope) am the bread of life (connection) without exception."

Quite similar and somewhat incredulous is the interpretation I ascertained before consulting the Latin teacher, which had to be from the Lord:

"There will be pressure upon (or a striving) about all solemn and serious things for the next three years, however, I (the Pope) am the bread of life connection."

In either case the sentence reveals that it is to be the Pope who will hold the key to life and death for three years in the future by virtue of the fact that it is he who is going to reveal the Antichrist to the world through miraculous signs and that it is the Antichrist who forces people to take his mark or be without the means to survive in a desperately dying world under the severe judgment of God. In other words by being the revelator of this world ruler who holds the key to life and death through his mark, the Pope becomes the "connection" or conduit of life for everyone. Through his miraculous signs, many of which are mere technological breakthroughs -- lying wonders -- he seduces or dupes the whole world into thinking this marvelous, duplicitous, tyrannical Wonderman is God Himself.

We learn from scripture that a time is coming when men will not be able to buy or sell anything without the mark of the Antichrist. Many people are skeptical of the truth of this prophecy. Believers who believe and receive all the Words of God's infallible Bible will not be deceived into thinking that this newly acclaimed God is the true God of the universe. The Bible has prophesied this will come to pass, and this vision from God confirms its truth. If one cannot buy or sell without the mark of the beast, he will soon be without bread to eat and must die if not supernaturally provided for by the Lord. Therefore, God in this vision confirms that this blasphemous declaration of the Pope will be exacted and that he will be the one to convince people with his lying wonders that this wicked man, the son of perdition, is God and hence, men not only ought to but must take his mark (Revelation 13:11-18). God put His stamp of approval on the Pope's declaration, albeit reluctantly and sadly, by repeating it in the vision as factual. Why? ...to verify that this is "The Lie" and God Himself is the one sending strong delusion to those destined to perish due to their rejection of the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). Does He want to?

According to Jeannette He spoke the words, "The Pope has declared the words that are written on the crossbeam," in a disheartened manner signifying that He wished men would not be so willfully stubborn and rebellious. Often in Scripture God calls His people stiff-necked (Exodus 32:9; 2 Chronicles 30:8) meaning that He had -- and still has -- a hard time persuading them through His counsel, the written Word, that there is a dangerous Outlaw in the heavenly realm bent on destroying God's orderly realm and divine decrees in order to establish a competitive kingdom of his own. When His people refused His repeated pleading to turn from their wickedness in former days, He gave them over to a reprobate mind and said, "Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone" (Hosea 4:17). He will do the same thing in these last days because they loved not the truth of His counsel.
