From archaeology, we know that Nimrod was a hunter who specialized in killing leopards. Historical tablets reveal that priests of cities he founded in the Valley wore priestly robes with spots on them similar to those of a leopard. The dictionary defines a panther as ‘a leopard, especially in its black unspotted form.’ Very simply they are mountain lions.
Why did we see panthers ravenously leap upwards trying to devour Jeannette? Given that she represents the people of God, the Spirit showed me that the panthers represented various satanic attempts to wipe out the possibility of the true seed of the woman from coming to earth to save humanity. Pharaoh tried to destroy the Israelite nation in his day when he ordered all male babies to be killed at birth. Haman tried in Queen Esther’s time when he planned to exterminate all Jews. Herod did it again when killing all boy children age two down. The Caesars tried to stamp out Christianity in the second and third centuries. The Inquisition tried to stop the Reformation from happening. Hitler as well as the Russian Pogroms has tried to eliminate all traces of the Jews recently. And so it goes.
Down through the ages these waves of terror have periodically arisen killing wholesale masses of people for this purpose of annihilating the line of Christ and the people of God. The continuous roaring Jeannette heard while hanging over the pit of panthers symbolized this persistent attempt at destroying the true line from which the true Savior with the true blood for the sacrificial offering would come. Satan failed in his attempt to prevent Jesus from appearing as Savior. Yet the noise continues. At this time, the panthers’ growls echo around the Babylonian kingdom for the purpose of forming a huge army to be gathered at Megiddo near Jerusalem to try and keep King Jesus from returning to kick satan out of His seat of power. It will fail again.
The first huge panther that leaped upward and almost got hold of Jeannette symbolized the first monolithic attack by satan to destroy God’s beautiful creation of humankind. It will be instructive to take a closer look at this one because it relates to a part of the vision. There is a saying, what goes around, comes around, and so in coming full circle on a sphere, the end will meet with the start and reflect its beginning.
Prior to the flood, satan tried to destroy the pure genetic pool of man with the ‘mingling’ of variant species of beings. It was so wicked and perverse that God had to wipe every vestige of living beings from off earth except for those He preserved through an ark. The reason I bring up this satanic attempt at genocide of the human race is because it relates to the vision.
From the above we understand that sons of God (angels) 12 left their first estate (Greek: ‘idios’ - ‘own’ plus ‘arche’ - ‘beginning’) to commingle with the daughters of men. In other words they left their ‘own beginning’ or estate in which they were ordained to exist. Jude expands on this and tells us it was their own habitation that they left. Own is ‘idios’ and the Greek form of the word for habitation is only used here and no other place in the New Testament inferring that it was different from all other habitations on earth. Angels’ dwelling place is heaven.
The Hebraic expression ‘sons of God,’ always refers to angels in the Old Testament. Even the cherubic angel Lucifer, is referred to as a son of God in the book of Job. Prior to the physical creation, angels were sons of God because they are spirit beings and offsprings of Him. Now that God has brought His plan into action to have a family, the term is used of His adopted children by way of Jesus.
Extrapolating from the above Scriptures, Satan conscripted a cadre of his fallen followers to infiltrate the ranks of men and corrupt their gene pool. This had the effect of contaminating the truly pure genetic pool from which the Savior of men would come. Remember, he had to be of the sheepfold. We are not privy to how this was actually accomplished except to say that Scripture has inferred it to give some idea of why it was necessary to wipe out everything on earth at the flood.
In support of this assumption, Genesis 6:9 reports …Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations… The Hebrew word for perfect means ‘without blemish’, i.e., pure Homo sapiens. Thus, Noah found grace because he was a just man and his genes were free from taint.
Notice that these angels left their own habitation in order to do this dastardly deed. Jude tells us in verse 7 that these angels went after ‘strange flesh’ ‘in like manner’ as did Sodom and Gomorrah. Thus we get the picture that these angels unwisely chose to cut short their reprieve from judgment and jump bail, leaving their heavenly above to cohabit with women for the purpose of destroying the line of Christ. Who knows what satan told them because he is a masterful liar and deceiver. He deceived one-third of the angels into thinking they could perform a coup de’etat in heaven. What egoism!
Jeannette saw people in the vision cohabit with each other and in the process turn into demons. Isn’t this reminiscent of what happened in Genesis 6? The offspring of the union of the sons of God and daughters of men were ‘giants’ [6:4]. Whatever these giants were, they were no ordinary men. The giant that David met was 13 feet tall. The implication is that the genes were tampered with and the offspring were grotesque. What Jeannette saw happen in the vision reflected this change from typical to atypical humanity. Has the end met up with the beginning?
In addition, Jesus said that at His coming it would be as in the days of Noah [Luke 17:26; Matthew 24:37]. Could He have been alluding to a return of what it was like when God had to judge the world the first time? A person turning into a demon is symbolic of becoming what you associate with: for as a man thinketh in his heart so is he [Proverbs 23:7]. Compromising truth for the sake of anything is unwise and extremely dangerous, because opening a door an inch makes it possible for other things to push it wide open. Are you listening?
A major theme of movies and novels in the last 20 years has been alien visitations of one sort or another. Isn’t there a message here to pay close attention to what you get involved with? Given that Jeannette was situated in the tribulation, we cannot discount the possibility of a return of demonic infestation. A Harvard study recently disclosed that 2 million Americans claim to have had contact with aliens and UFOs. I cannot judge the accuracy of any of these types of reports because I personally do not want to dwell on them. But can that many people have the same hallucinations?
Furthermore, the revelation that there would be an infestation of millions of released demonic locusts from out of the bottomless pit [9:1-12] followed by the release of four other bound angels that would lead an army of devastation on earth [9:13-21] gives rise to the possibility that the angels that caused the flood might be these same beings. Jude and Peter both said the fallen angels were bound with chains of darkness unto the day of judgment. Could that mean that when the Day of the Lord comes around, which is the time of judgment in the latter days, these angels would be released to wreak havoc again? God warns that when men obstinately refuse to repent and harden their hearts, in time God hardens their hearts even further. God is a sun and shield [Psalms 84:11], but, don’t forget that the heat of the sun can harden as well as melt.
Thank God for the cloud over Jeannette. It indicates that God will still be around showing Himself strong on behalf of His people even in the tribulation, strengthening them to go through any ordeal. It is the glory of God and like in the days of the Exodus, it hovers over His people even though invisible, standing guard against anyone messing around with one’s connection to heaven. The chain went right through the cloud into heaven itself and although she could not see where it was attached, we know from our covenant with God that He will not forsake His people utterly. My covenant will I not break, nor altar the thing that is gone out of my mouth. She was not holding on to the chain, it was holding on to her. Praise God for His faithfulness!
Queen of Heaven - Conclusion
Having noted that Babylon was christened along side Eden in the second chapter of Genesis, is it any wonder that in the final five chapters of the Book there is only one chapter (Revelation 19) separating the account of their end? The two cities’ progression can be traced from Genesis to Revelation as the program of satan versus the program of God. The task of understanding the meaning of the vision’s message is a measure of one’s desire to understand the meaning of the mysterious caption on the forehead of the woman that calls her the mother of harlots and abominations.
We can assume that the Lord did not want Jeannette nor the reader to make any mistake about who this pompous, narcissistic peacock is that maltreated Jeannette by hanging her over a pit of vicious panthers and subjugating her to nasty sadistic demonic attacks. Our Lord provided us with her name, and John tells us she is a swaggering cocky Queen living luxuriously and glorifying herself, saying in her heart: …I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow [Revelation 18:7]. Why did she inveigh such awful fulminating blasphemies at Jeannette?
Looking at it from the other side, why does the Bible
speak so bellicose of her? Why are the appellations that distinguish
her at the end of
the Book so odious, even scandalous – full of abominations, enveloped
with blasphemies, arrayed in purple, circumscribed with ostentation,
dripping with jewels, golden cup filled with filthiness, drunken with
the blood of the saints, copulating with beasts, mother of harlots,
etc.? John leaves no mistake about the fact that on the one hand, she
is ’…that great city, which reigneth over the kings of
the earth’ [Revelation 17:18] (she is called that six times in
his Apocalypse); and on the other hand, he personifies her as ‘a
harlot woman’ with whom the merchants and kings of earth fornicate

12. Some Bible teachers believe these ‘sons of God’ were not angels but human men. For lack of space, it is not possible to explore the reasons I have concluded that it must be referring to fallen angels. I suggest you do an in-depth study on your own. I include mention of Jude and 2 Peter because it relates to the vision interpretation. (left)
