|I remember several years ago that I was invited to attend a weekend seminar put on by the church I was attending. I knew it was on spiritual gifts, but I did not know what would be involved. Wanting to please the Pastor, I attended not knowing what the agenda was. The entire Saturday morning was taken up with teaching and discussions that stemmed directly from a spiritual gifts test that everyone had to take at the start.|
There were no right or wrong answers, just information that supposedly revealed what a Christian’s particular spiritual gifts were.
I was completely aghast when I saw that the test was a combination of an interest and personality inventory that I was familiar with having taught child psychology in a University setting. What was happening was that the seminar leaders were labeling believers with certain natural characteristics this instrument was supposed to identify, after which the participants would be slated, or should I say slotted, for church work. When I spoke to the Pastor about it, he seemed disinterested that the purity of God’s Word was being compromised.
The first problem with this situation is that psychological tests have never been validated nor found reliable as I have already explained. Pastors and leaders are looking to unproven instruments to determine God’s calling. They forget that God can sanctify inept traits into spiritual gifts. On the other hand, He may also reject useful or charismatic propensities for a work because of pride.
A second problem is that many believers will look upon the inventory and think that since these are my qualifications, I ought not try to do something else, and he or she might be die cast in self-concept for a lifetime. When a person believes he called to do something, he may not feel equipped, yet knows the call is there. So confusion and self-doubt loom large. It is the Holy Spirit’s job to groom one for God’s service, not testing instruments. The gifts of the Spirit are supernatural and bypass man’s incapability. Spiritual IQ does not equate with human IQ. Neither does natural aptitude equate with spiritual possibility. The less ability one has for doing a work for the Lord, the greater the glory God receives when the work is finished.
Gideon went, God did, and Israel was saved. Notice, however, that Gideon did not think he was qualified to do the job. He said he was least in His father’s house. God chose him for that every reason. He wanted to change him by causing him to lean upon the powerful hand of the Lord for victory. Note that He called him a mighty man of valor immediately upon meeting Gideon [v. 12]. The Lord started changing Gideon’s image of himself right away. He told him to go in the little might he possessed [v. 14] because God was sending him, and God’s strength would be known in his weakness.
When the Lord calls to service, He equips that person by His Word and that one becomes what He says about him or her. But, when men say you are something through inventories and tests, maybe they are right and maybe not. The fact is that the Lord amazingly forced Gideon to lower his capacity by telling him to reduce the number of soldiers he was to lead from 32,000 to 300. He wanted to show His power in weakness. The outcome was that a 300 man Israelite army defeated a foe that was …like grasshoppers for multitude …and as the sand by the seaside for multitude [Judges 7:12]. The moral of the story is that the more dependent upon the Lord we are, the greater is His glory! God does not need our aptitude. He can create from nothing what He wants. Hail Genesis 1:1.
A third problem in testing believers with manmade instruments is that any outcomes resulting from work efforts in church ministry can be attributed to one’s natural talents discovered in testing. Is this not partial stealing of God’s glory? It is taking away abundant opportunity to glorify God in supervening one’s natural abilities. Note how God addresses this problem.
It is very easy to become vain in thinking that because I possess certain natural abilities, I am more blessed than others. This can lead to envy and strife among brethren. Can you see some of the problems with integrating manufactured devices into God’s programs? His ways are different from man’s ways. He wants to instruct people via the Holy Spirit and His Word so that He gets ALL the glory. Since He is responsible for all there is and has written the manual explaining the whys and wherefores of everything, He deserves it. Unfortunately, however, men want to use self-effort to help them succeed, for in so doing, they can usurp some of God’s glory and on occasion get rich in the offing.
History shows that every time man chooses to work out his own solutions rather than seek God’s wisdom through His Word, he gets into trouble. Sarah tried to help God when she offered her maid as a substitute to bring forth the child she and Abraham wanted, and we have the Middle East debacle today. Israel wanted a king they could see, and they lost their freedom to govern themselves as individual tribal units. Instead of remaining a Kingdom of myriad of Priests, each believer one, Christianity turned to a hierarchical system of priestly rule that led to the horrendous Inquisition. It appears like the church is again rejecting the Bible as the sole and sufficient rule by which to live in favor of integrating manufactured programs with Biblical fair. I submit that Madison Avenue techniques of marketing Christianity underlies the rise of the Laodicean church.
It is not possible to delve further into the ramifications of new methodologies, forms, and rituals for a dawning era. Let me close this digression by saying that Jesus did not cater to the world’s ways when He brought in a new spiritual order nor did He integrate its schemes with God’s. He said …to render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s [Mark 12:17]. He also said His disciples would not use intrusive methods of the world either [Matthew 10:26; John 17:14,16]. In fact, Jesus elevated His new spiritual order to a higher plane than that of the old order. He shattered satan’s ineffective system based upon man’s ingenuity and shocked the world with miraculous feats the source of which was His Father’s Word and the Holy Spirit. Should we act differently?
The first vision Jeannette received discloses that this planet has a destiny with desolation. The second vision curiously exposes spiritual truths related to that destiny. It makes known some of what happens in the unseen spiritual world that affects events in the physical world.
In short, together they address destiny as an important aspect of existence, but one vision speaks about it in the physical realm and the other in the spiritual. The dual nature of the dyad acts somewhat like a reveal codes key on a computer.
Computers have an unusual but happy feature in that they can hide or show symbols which tell one what is going on in the concealed software that controls its word processing. The marks disclosing the coding schema can aid one in writing at times. The coding system is there, potentially visible, but it is not seen unless one wants to see it. It is typically hidden because it gets in the way of writing. Every so often, however, it is helpful to find out what is happening in the background so that mistakes can be corrected or changes made to enhance style, and so forth. Consequently, computers have a reveal codes key, which will access information about the computer’s useful automatic processing software.
When the key is punched, a large amount of symbolic data appears on the desktop document showing what is taking place as one writes. It tells the writer what parts of the processor’s software have been accessed for the document. Summarily, it reveals what items the software has been programmed to do for a document. This can help in decision-making to boost the positive outflow of the PC user. Writing is much easier, however, without visibility of the cumbersome markings that clutter up the paper. Thus, the reveal codes key can hide the informative marks again with a click of the mouse.
We have a similar situation in this vision. The first vision shows what is happening on earth, while the second one discloses what goes on behind the scenes in heaven that affects events on earth. A scriptural example of what I am talking about is when Elisha asked the Lord to open the eyes of his servant so that he could see what was happening in the spirit world.
Unaware that God’s angels outnumber satan’s [Revelation 12:4], Elisha’s servant was fearful. At Elisha’s request, God opened the eyes of his servant whereupon he saw the hills covered with angels riding chariots of fire. All the while, the security of the two was assured. Why was this biblical anecdote inscribed in God’s Word? It was to teach the truth to all believers of all ages that God is always working behind the scenes to fulfill His purposes and promises.
Yes indeed, …He works all things after the counsel of his own will [Ephesians 1:11]. Using an equivalent ‘reveal codes key’ counterpart, God has divulged through this revelatory vision that spiritual activity goes on all the time even though we cannot see it. What did the key unconceal in this vision? It divulged that the cleansing scenario at the Way Station is a potential but necessary purification process for people who want to maintain the proper course to their predestined end. I’ll come back to that. It is significant to our interpretation that the Station appeared subsequent to the rain of reels, for it affected who would participate in the carnage of the earth in the last days.
Because we cannot see what is transpiring in the unseen but real spiritual world, we must walk by faith and not sight [2 Corinthians 5:7]. On occasion, God gives us revelatory knowledge to explain why we must walk by faith. The person who walks merely by sight is handicapped even though all his proprioceptors and physical senses function perfectly. …Cursed is the man that trusteth in man…but…(b)lessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord [Jeremiah 17:5-7]. Trusting in God’s promises is how to get His powerful angels working in one’s behalf like we saw in Elisha’s case. Elisha did not have to see the angels because by faith he knew God would dispatch a legion of angels if necessary to protect him so that he could fulfill his destiny.
The aim of the Biblical account regarding Elisha and his servant, then, is to comfort believers. God wants to give His children reason to keep trusting Him even though things seem hopeless in the natural. When someone tells you “there is no way…” to whatever – healing, promotion, family reconciliation, etc. – just tell them in response that there is a way, and that way is the Lord’s way. He works continually behind the scenes on our behalf; but we must cooperate with Him. All things are possible to him that believeth [Mark 9:23]. If we refuse to believe this, we tie His hands because faith is the safety switch to His power. The requirement of faith keeps devils and demons from using people to destroy God’s creation. Without faith, we get nothing from the Lord, not even salvation.
Although concealed, the angels protected the two Israelites from capture by the enemy. As we shall see, The Message likewise reveals spiritual matters affecting events in The Reels. The cleansing process of the second vision predetermined who was included in the tribulational cleansing of the earth in the first vision. This information revealed in pictures is called revelation knowledge, which enhances spiritual discernment. This knowledge is understood using words. Regardless of whether it comes through pictures or reading the Bible, it is filtered by words. The knowledge has been there all the time, but only at the point of understanding does it become a revelation to a person. It is new to the person but not new to older, mature believers who have already received discernment about it.
I am constrained to issue a word of warning concerning revelation knowledge for young and immature brethren. It must line up with Scripture and harmonize with the whole of the Bible. If it is from God, it will. If someone says, “I had a word from the Lord,” or, “I heard God say…,” make sure they give you confirming Scripture, as I do, that supports the revelation. Many voices are in the world but most are promoting doctrines of devils that do not harmonize with Scripture:
Furthermore, Paul warns to be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines of men [Hebrews 13:9].
Because of the foregoing, a believer needs to grow in knowledge of the Word of God. The reason we have God’s Word written down is so that we can know what is of Him and what is not. It is the benchmark for discerning spiritual matters. Because it is the only standard, fruit inspection depends on it. Fruit is what comes out of the mouth and must be tested. For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat [Job 34:3]. This is what Jesus meant when He said to judge righteous judgment [John 7:24]. Without Bible precedent, the fruit could be bad, and without Bible knowledge, there is no yardstick for measuring accuracy. A word to the wise is sufficient.
The pitiful scenes Jeannette encountered in the city and the wilderness clearly show that this planet is destined for a cleansing of catastrophic proportions. Jesus predicted this when He said: for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be [Matthew 24:21].
I could cite Scripture after Scripture supporting the biblical notion of an earth upheaval and cosmic confusion at the end of this age of grace, but for time reasons, I will only list two.
the above and many other Scriptures, this planet is destined for a ‘fire bath.’ Peter
affirmed it when he said that …the
earth (is) reserved unto fire against the
day of judgment… [2
Peter 3:7]. When Jesus foretold the earth’s tribulation, He said that
God would shorten the days of judgment for the sake of the elect who
are saved and trapped in that time period [Matthew
24:22]. These will
be the days of vengeance on God’s enemies and judgment against
sin. Mercifully, God has foretold about it in His Book, but because of
apathy, most people will be caught by surprise. Over half the Bible comprises
prophetic warning about earth’s destiny and invariably with the
warning God issues a plea for people to repent, to get off pitted paths
pockmarked with sin and change directions.
Mercy and grace will protect whoever chooses to follow Jesus into His Kingdom. Every path leads somewhere, which destination is the destiny of whoever travels its course. Make sure you are on ‘The Way” to heaven because (t)there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death [Proverbs 14:12; 16:25]. Now is a good time to ask yourself, what course am I on? Am I headed in the right direction?
The world has a dreadful date with destiny, and its inhabitants will eat the fruit of it. The Message characterizes what is necessary to avert participation in the ‘fire bath’ cleansing of the world, to wit, the cleansing of oneself. Thankfully, the Bible says that …if we judge ourselves, we should not be judged [1 Corinthians 11:21]. We can escape the things coming upon the world by judging ourselves and determining if we are on the right course. The reason the reels rained down from heaven was to alert people to examine their lives, for the title to each reel was the same – “This Is Your Life.”
Note that the rain came prior to the tribulation scenes. Those that looked at their reels and realized they were on a wrong course made adjustments as per the second vision. Those that did not were projected into the tribulational city of doom. What we are looking at in the first vision, then, is a snapshot of the world’s destiny, the aftermath of a cleansing by fire, anand anyone wanting to escape the things coming upon earth ought to preview their reel.
The angel in the vision told Jeannette he was taking her to a certain place in the future. The locked gates she and the angel went through without opening represented set times for events, which have not yet occurred. Since all things have been decreed before the world began, the fixed times to open the gates will happen right on schedule. Thus, the end was finished before it began, and our personal conclusion was established before our birth. If one can take hold of this truth, it helps in understanding that God has a plan for each life. Hear what the Word says about our Lord Jesus Christ:
Since Jesus’ destiny as a man was accomplished before He took upon Himself the form of a servant to become obedient to the Father’s will, to be slain as an innocent lamb upon a wooden altar in substitution for us [Philippians 2:7,8], our destiny is likewise predetermined. Consequently, our responsibility is to find our place in God’s purposes for His creation and fulfill it like Jesus. Regardless of what it is, having fulfilled it is all that matters in receiving rewards in heaven. Rewards are not given according to ability, but according to how well one ran the race to reach his or her foreordained destiny.
After you fully grasp this concept that obedience in following your preplanned course in the presently invisible Kingdom of God is what our Lord is after, you will have less stress in trying to reach your intended goal. Traveling your flight plan with your eye of faith staid on Jesus is the only way to be at peace as you traverse this tumultuous non-linear world of abrupt disasters. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is staid on thee, because he trusteth in thee [Isaiah 26:3]. Keep your eyes straight ahead …on the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus [Philippians 4:13].
When you understand that the course itself, your specially designed route in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, is the key to success in the Kingdom, you will be delivered from envy and jealousy over other believers’ successes. Only God has all the facts and knows every heart, and what seems like a highly prosperous and successful work may be only the fruit of the arm of flesh. Are you old enough to remember the fall of the giants in the 1980s?
The process of becoming like Jesus is different for each individual. Jesus is the pattern, the goal, which is the reason we must keep our eyes on Him and not other people. Because every person’s experiences are different even within a family unit, God has a unique path for each person as he or she develops into a perfect child of God. The teachings of Scripture are the road signs that help us stay on course. Even though people’s paths part in route, road signs remain the same because the destination for all is to be conformed to the image of a person – Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life [Romans 8:29 with John 14:6]. Moreover, the Holy Spirit counsels us in making choices at each turn of the way. He convinces and convicts through the Word, but if you neglect this method of discipline, you throw yourself open to being chastised by satan.
Knowing that each person’s course is tailor-made for him/her helps to eliminate envy or jealousy among brethren. In the world, competition determines a winner, but in the Kingdom of God, submission exalts. We do not have to compete against others with superior natural skills because everyone is equal in God’s Kingdom. No one has an advantage over another. Since the process – traveling the course – becomes the goal in one’s life, we do not have to be concerned about where other people are in relation to ourselves. Keeping on course is all that matters. The process is God’s plan for each life, and He will help us stay the course if we yield to His leading. – For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure [Philippians 2:13].
Keep reminding yourself that your end is finished and you are not waiting to see how it will turn out. Keep reminding yourself that your destiny is assured so long as you stay on course. And keep reminding the devil that he cannot stop you from reaching your goal. It helps to remind the devil of his end whenever he comes with temptations and fiery darts trying to ambush you along the way. He has no power except what a person gives him [Ephesians 4:27]. He has been defeated [Colossians 2:16], his end is certain [Revelation 20:10], and as a believer, you have authority over him [Luke 10:19].
Temptation is not a sin. Yielding to it is. God promises to give
anyone the power to escape a temptation by making a way to
escape [1 Corinthians
10:13]. How? By putting down the thought. Take control of your
mind and cast out the thought [2 Corinthians
10:15]. This is
Run like the wind and start quoting Scripture. This is the
process for staying on your predestined course and how you grow
success over temptations is becoming sanctified. Know that
God has ordained you to be a winner and an overcomer like Jesus
of death, hell, and the grave while He was in the garden when
He was tempted to walk away from His mission [Luke
his course without wavering and thus received a crown of life
[2 Timothy 4:6-8].
The Message vision shows the process whereby one keeps on course. The purpose of the Way Station is to aid one in reaching his or her goal. One must choose, however, to stop off at the station.
This is where our choices become involved in our destiny, and it is, in essence, the sanctification process. If you have ever wondered what sanctification is all about, it is exactly what you see in the second vision. Please remember that our decisions along our route determine our destiny. For a successful end, we must stay out of the ditch on the right, and stay out of the ditch on the left, and this takes discernment. Listen to our leader, Jesus:
said the way is narrow and the gate is strait meaning that there
room for deviation. This has
implications for new paradigms
in ecclesiology (a fancy word meaning things related to the functions
of a church). Make sure you are among the few that find ‘The Way’ because
if you do not find ‘The Way’ you will never find the gate.
I related earlier that I could not write up the interpretation for the first vision a year ago because I sensed something was missing. What alerted me to the connection between these two visions was when I was ruminating about The Reels vision after having read The Message vision. As I was praying over them, all of a sudden my spiritual eyes were opened as if someone had punched a reveal codes key in the spirit of my mind.
I noticed that the first vision ended with Jeannette being pulled up by an angel through a hole in the roof through which rain was falling inside the cabin. While standing on the roof, she could see the glories of a future place. The darkness and dreariness of the earth below her paled into oblivion as she grasped the meaning of where she was. She knew she was in the presence of holiness and heaven.
As I contemplated what Jeannette was experiencing in the vision, it occurred to me that the newest visitation she had just received began in a similar ambiance. She reported that she had been translated to heaven immediately upon closing her eyes when she went to bed. Her written report mirrored that of the end of The Reels vision. That is when I knew they were connected. She had moved behind the scenes of the first vision into the spiritual realm to show why most of the people in the city of doom were hopelessly despairing of any relief. The few surviving people in the tribulation were trapped inside the wrath of God because they had failed to cleanse their souls. They had refused introspection into the course they were following after the rain of reels. They failed to distinguish if their life’s picture being recorded on the reel matched God’s plan for them as revealed in the Bible. Those that had done so, made adjustments and were taken off the earth before the tribulation began.
Sadly, Jeannette saw many people crush and trample their reels scorning the message in it as of no account. Jesus foretold that this would happen, for He said, …many are called but few are chosen [Matthew 22:14]. The chosen ones are called to a privileged destiny. The reason they are chosen is because they heeded the call. Hence, it behooves everyone to examine their reels and guard them jealously. The pervasive message of The Reels, then, depicts God’s personal call to each one individually, to pay attention to what is happening in their lives, and to discern what course they are on.
During the past century, God has rained down myriads of signs and
wonders trying to alert people to check out the course they are
may say, but all things continue as they were, yet I submit they are
not. There is an uncanny and significant increase in the numbers
of the warning signs. The messages on this website are among the refreshing
rain God is sending to earth at this time. They are refreshing in that
they are grace appeals to get prepared for sudden departure. Those
who heed the call will be snatched out of time into unspeakable
joy and glory
[1 Peter 1:8].
Wheels Within Wheels
The reels of the first vision correspond to the content of the message of the messenger in the second vision. God told Jeannette that in the coming days there would be an increase in messages heralding that Jesus is coming soon. Therefore, I suggest that we all get on course with God. To say it another way, the wheels on the vehicle carrying the messenger represent the ‘wheel of life’ on a reel. Jeannette saw wheels within wheels signifying that people take different courses throughout their life. Some persons try to follow two courses at once, but this is ineffective. Double-mindedness grieves God and negates faith in God alone. Thence, the reels and the wheels both represented the course of life of a person.
The many more messengers to follow the one she saw means God is going to rain down sign after sign throughout the world that His prophetic decrees are on track and time is running out. God loves people and always gives grace before judgment. He wants them to get on course and stay there so that they do not wind up in the city of desolation. The increase of natural disasters worldwide are formidable messages prognosticating our Lord’s return. Those people with spiritual eyes to see …will understand and do exploits [Daniel 11:32]. They will not be caught on the wrong course. And, indeed we are witnessing a great endtime harvest of souls in many parts of the world indicating that many souls are heeding God’s warning messages. Yes, there is an increase of persecution, but there is also an increase in fruit production. The light of life is getting brighter while the dark is getting darker, and many new brethren are being added to the church daily as they see the wayward course the world is on.
Significantly, the rain of reels stopped suddenly. At that point, Jeannette was taken to view a tragic scene of devastation. She was propelled into the future to get a glimpse of the awful circumstances people will find themselves in during the tribulation of earth.
