As Jeannette walked through the city of devastation, she saw only despair. People’s countenances were robotic-like showing little evidence of life. Remember that Jeannette was propelled into the future. Things in this era had become so bad that people had lost hope. The crimes against humanity tore at Jeannette’s soul because they were so bad. I do not need to repeat further what she saw for you have read about it in the vision. This is what it will be like whenever the restrainer of evil [2 Thessalonians 2:5-8] is removed from earth. During this period, wickedness and darkness will permeate every corner of earth and make death seem like a blessing. In fact, at one point during the tribulation, death will take a holiday and for five months no one will be able to die [Revelation 9:6].
Upon entering the headquarters' compound with its fence bulging inward from the masses of wretched people trying to get inside to wreck havoc, Jeannette saw the insiders just as despondent and weary of life as those outside. Yet, this headquarters characterized Christianity after its destruction by the Antichrist. He will turn on the church midway into the tribulation and pillage it [Daniel 7:25; Revelation 17:16]. That is why Jeannette reported that the headquarters looked as if bombs had shelled it. The pleasant looking woman who was praying around the fire was as bewildered by her predicament as anyone outside. She knew it was a matter of time before the fences would give way for the marauders to come in. She was trying to keep up her faith and therefore encouraging herself through praying.
Very quickly Jeannette was whisked away further into the tribulation period where Christians were shown retreating to remote places in the wilderness in hopes of surviving the holocaust against them. The weathered cabin signifies the hardships that these few survivors will have to endure. The picture is not pretty. It connotes extreme suffering. So, what is the message here? It is for believers to keep ready for transportation out of here when Jesus comes to snatch away His bride. If you are not in the bridehood, you are on a wrong course and need to visit the Way Station. Those people who receive God’s messages of coming judgment will heed the warnings and be seized out prior to the horrible event that covers the earth. Are you ready?
After entering the Way Station, Jeannette saw the door back into heaven
from where she came shut. People were not allowed to enter from
the cleansing room the glorious ambiance of heaven she so eloquently
described at the
beginning of the vision. After cleansing, people had to go back
down to earth because their journey was not yet over. We can presume
their destiny is assured because they made the right choice to
visit the Station. The doorway without a door in front of Jeannette
to the truth that the Way Station is always open to earth dwellers
and can be frequented as often as necessary [1
The course one takes is determined by one’s habits, attitudes, and choices. Bad ones can block one’s way to his/her destiny and must be changed if blessings are to flow. This is the purpose of cleansing at the Way Station. It takes radical surgery to cleanse one of old bad habits. The heaving of some people in the vision reflected a thorough internal cleansing of one’s thought processes that direct behavior. Unless the Word of God renews one’s mindset, it is not possible to stay on a proper course to God’s chosen destiny. Paul literally begged believers to become transformed by the renewing of their minds [Romans 12:2], because he knew that without a transformation, the old mindset would overcome good intentions. There is a lesson here for us all.
Notice that cleansing came through prayer. Cleansing cannot come through anyone else’s actions on your behalf. Every person must himself or herself reach down into the recesses of the heart and admit of sin and the necessity of a change in direction. In essence, this is repentance. In the vision, Jeannette spoke about the Way Station being a ‘directional switching’ place similar to those that railroad switchyards use to switch the tracks for trains to change over to another track leading in a different direction. It is significant that people waited in line to enter the room indicating they were determined to switch tracks and get on course with God. We saw people praying through to obtain deliverances of all sorts. That is the purpose of the Way Station. It is a crossroads where people pray through to correct their course and continue on to their ‘place’ of glory in heaven. BUT, we must CHOOSE to enter the Station.
God is always inside the prayer room, symbolic of the Holy of Holies, and He is always ready to help us as our advocate. We saw Jesus guiding Jeannette who represented our prayer intercessor, the Holy Spirit. If you remember, upon entering the room, the door was shut behind her, and she could not go back into heaven. This corresponds to the fact that the Holy Spirit has been given to each believer and will remain with us forever [John 14:16]. He will not leave us and go back to heaven without us.
Wherever we go, He goes. If we do not go to Africa, India, or China to preach the gospel, He cannot go. We are indivisibly linked to heaven through Him. This is the reason we must not grieve Him [Ephesians 4:30] nor quench Him [1 Thessalonians 5:19]. In the vision, Jeannette stood in for the Holy Spirit since He can neither be seen nor heard. Because the Bible declares that He will only speak what He is told to speak from headquarters [John 16:13], we see Jeannette looking up to Jesus waiting for instructions from Him. …(H)e (the Holy Spirit) shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come [John 16:13].
The Bible calls Jesus our advocate with the Father [1 John 2:1]. An advocate speaks on behalf of someone who needs assistance. Note that Jesus stood beside Jeannette giving assistance and directions through her to the people. This is how it works. Jesus intercedes for us in heaven while the Holy Spirit intercedes for us on earth. They communicate with each other on our behalf. Both are called paracletes in the Greek [Romans 8:26,27 with Isaiah 53:12 and Hebrews 7:25], and a paraclete is one who walks along side of a person helping him or her wherever help is needed and sought for. Therefore, both are advocates, counselors, and teachers.
The need for help comes in all kinds of garb. One needs a touch from
God, another an anointing, another a direction or just power to listen
need comfort from emotional hurts, pains, sickness, and physical
abuse, and many are seeking deliverance from a variety of yokes
to help with any of these things but He insists that we ask Him for
His help. So ask! Humble yourself and ask! Asking for help is a choice,
Stubbornness can get you killed. Never forget that your choices determine
Having chosen to be cleansed, the women had to choose the proper tools for a different ‘way’. The tools were available for whatever was required to get them to their destination. This corresponds to the Kingdom of Heaven being thoroughly equipped to meet any need. Anything, I said anything one needs is supplied in the Kingdom of Heaven. It is very important for you to understand that there is no lack of tools or supplies in the Kingdom. Let me extrapolate on this concept.
Jesus began reestablishing His Father’s Kingdom on earth at His first advent. It was started then and will be finished at His second coming. At present, it is in the process of acquiring citizens, which citizens are called ambassadors residing in a foreign land [2 Corinthians 5:20]. Calvary was the means to the purpose of bringing back into earth God’s rule that was lost in the garden. Jesus’ mission statement when He opened His earthly ministry was …Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (has arrived) [Matthew 4:17].
The Kingdom had arrived because Jesus, its King, was here. It is significant that He brought the Kingdom with Him when He came the first time. However, He brought it in the form of the Holy Spirit. That is why He said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within you in [Luke 17:21].
After the price was paid, people could be regenerated, made holy, and enter the Kingdom. Since God’s Spirit is Holy, He needed holy vessels in which to tabernacle. Jesus furnished the means whereby people could be made holy, and we know they have been because Paul admonished believers to…put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness [Ephesians 4:24]. Having taken the sin barrier out of the way, God could now come and dwell in His new creatures in order to help them rule His creation with Him. This was the original plan when He created Adam.
After forming Adam from the dust, God breathed into him the breath of lives [Genesis 2:7]. The word for life in the Authorized Version is singular, but in Hebrew it is plural. It means God made alive Adam’s spirit and gave him His Holy Spirit’s presence as well. There were two live spirits inside his body. But, when he sinned, God recalled the Holy Spirit to heaven because He would not permit Him to dwell in a sin-tainted body. Thus, Adam lost his connection with heaven. Because he did not have the Spirit’s guidance nor power anymore, he became a pawn of satan, his new lord.
After our redemption was paid for, God could send His Holy Spirit back to earth to reside in people who would accept Jesus’ ransom for their sins. The first act of Jesus when He saw His disciples in the upper room after His resurrection was to breathe on them and make them living souls. In doing so, He restored them to fellowship with a Holy God by giving them the Holy Spirit [John 20:22]. This mirrors the same act as in Genesis when He breathed on Adam and made him a living soul. At the point of receiving Jesus, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in a person’s spirit and assumes the role of Counselor and guide from now on. Thus, He is restored to the original site of residence as per the plan in the beginning. Having taken up residence within believers, God’s power is now available to them as they qualify to use it. The Kingdom within someone is in the form of the Holy Spirit. Hence, the cross was the means to restore the Kingdom on earth, to qualify people for holiness.
I said all that to say this: whenever you follow the course God has planned for you, all you have to do to obtain what you need is to requisition it. This is how kingdoms operate. If you are a born-again believer in Jesus, you have been made an ambassador of the Kingdom [2 Corinthians 5:20]. And what do ambassadors do?
An ambassador makes a list of what he needs to carry out his government’s orders. He then submits it to the proper person. Government envoys, however, must follow established procedures after which the government then supplies the requisition. The bigger the kingdom, the more lavishly supplied is the ambassador. Can you imagine our God saying to one of His children, “I am sorry, but I just ran out of shirts and pants, and my pantry is short of food, therefore, I am limiting your request for these items.” It is just as ridiculous and inane to think God would say, “My foresight should have been better when I created everything. I did not plan on 6 billion people populating the planet, therefore, you need to conserve its resources.” This would be humorous if it were not so close to the truth about our conceptualization that poverty is spiritual.
If God’s streets are made of transparent gold, is it possible that He could run out of supplies for His ambassadors on earth? The answer is a resounding no. The problem lies in the fact that believers have slandered His goodness and willingness to provide good things for His own. He is slandered because people do not know Him on the one hand and will not follow the rules of His Kingdom on the other. What are the rules? Get in the Bible and find out.
Without daily contact with God and spending time with Him, you cannot understand His ways. He has so many ways to do things; we just need to get on track with Him. When we are on course, He fills every need no matter what it is. If things seem awry in your life, and you do not have enough to meet your needs, check up to see if you are on course with God, for with God, nothing shall be impossible [Luke 1:37]. And, …all things are possible to him that believeth [Mark 9:23].
Sanctification is not all that hard. It is a matter of renewing the mind. Let me suggest you do not spend time TRYING to crucify the flesh. According to the Bible, if we walk in the spirit we will not satisfy the lusts of the flesh meaning that the flesh will automatically be crucified. Quit thinking about your old sin habits and put on the new man with his royal garments.
Take your mind off yourself, your flesh, and your old life with the hang-ups in it. Concentrate on the new way. Get into the Word and find out what is required for the new course you will travel. Start thinking like a King and acting like one because that is what you are if you are in God’s family [Revelation 5:10]. This is renewing the mind.
Find out what pleases the Father and do it. Then you will not have time to cater to the flesh. It takes concentration, but it is not difficult. When you get into the Word and meditate in it, you will find strength to fulfill your destiny and promises to meet your needs. Moreover, joy and peace will follow and that is worth all the effort.
God wants to fellowship with people who want to fellowship with Him. Therefore, He gave man a free will. He has decreed that no person would enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless they chose to enter it according to His specifications. He is the sovereign Creator and has the right to decide how His Kingdom should operate. People are free to choose or not choose His way of administering things. But, He is not going to permit His Kingdom to be violated again. This means He is screening people before He establishes a new heavenly order. He knows that if someone enters His Kingdom in willful violation of His plan, they would eventually willfully corrupt it as satan did. Hence, God has dispatched angels to secure the way to the tree of eternal life. Only those who willfully conform to God’s Kingdom protocols are allowed to pass through the pearly gates.
Because God knows everything, He knew how people would choose. This explains why believers are predestinated to heaven. They are said to be …elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father…[1 Peter 1:2]. In His foreknowledge, He knew some people would never choose the way leading to eternal life. Nevertheless, He decided to create men with free wills anyway. Otherwise, He never would have fellowship with any of His creatures. Regardless of place or position in eternity, free will implies the risk of rebellion. More importantly, true love relationships are founded upon free will. Compulsion or coercion smothers it.
Why Some Are Elected To Grace And Peace And Others Not
If believers are predestined to glory, are unbelievers predestined to hell? The answer is a resounding no. The reason some people go there is because they have free wills [Deuteronomy 30:19]. They can choose to believe the gospel message that God sent Jesus to pay the sin penalty or not. Whatever the choice, God responds accordingly. At the point that one chooses to accept Jesus as Savior, God chooses that one to become a son or daughter in His family. What this means is unbelievable. He is not just allowing people who believe to enter heaven; He is also giving them an inheritance undefiled and incorruptible [1 Peter 1:4] equivalent to Jesus’ inheritance. Believers have been made joint heirs with His Son. Incredibly, our Father piles up grace upon grace [John 1:16] as He shows us favor in all things for all eternity!
On the other side of the coin, in refusing to believe the gospel message about Jesus, unbelievers are said to die in their sins. Listen to Jesus:
The Greek for ‘die’ is ‘apothaneísthe.’ It is a future tense, middle voice, and indicative mood verb. It is the middle voice that tells us they go to hell from their own choosing. The Greek scholar Spiros Zodhiates, Th.D. states that “The middle voice represents the subject as acting in some way upon himself or concerning himself.” 4 It is reflexive – the action reflects upon the subject. English has no equivalent.
Jews were the subjects under consideration in the above verse of
and Jesus said that they would die
in the future from
of themselves. The prefix ‘apo’ means ultimate source of, and ‘thaneisthe’ is
a form of the verb ‘to die.’ Hence, the action of dying would
be the result of their choosing not to believe Jesus’ attestation
that He was sent by the Father to fulfill His plan of salvation.
Every unbeliever sends himself or herself to the lake of
fire, the middle voice,
because he or she refuses to receive Jesus as his or her
Savior. The action of dying produced by the subject reflects
upon the subject and
is the cause
of it. Hence, the unbeliever is the ultimate source of
what happens to him or her.
We found out earlier from the first chapter of Ephesians that we are chosen in the beloved Jesus, because we choose to accept salvation as per God’s method. Consequent to our choice, He chooses us to a glorious destiny, that of becoming a member of His royal family. Therefore, we are predestinated to an inheritance that is indescribable. Our predestination was not an arbitrary selection on God’s part whereby He selected a few to heaven and some to hell, but rather it was the result of our choice to believe or not believe His gospel message.
It is not God’s will that any perish but that all should come to repentance [2 Peter 3:9]. Our destination, then, is the consequence of what choice we make. In His omniscience, God knows who will choose to receive His plan of salvation and who will not. Therefore, in His foreknowledge He decided to do much more than just save believers from a lake of fire and allow them egress into heaven. Because we chose Jesus as our substitute Savior, God chose us in Him to an unbelievable destiny of wealth and riches. How glorious is God’s mercy and grace to all who believe. How can anyone refuse the prospect of becoming a King and a Priest unto God in His Kingdom?
We have seen that each person has a destiny designed by God before He created the world. Before anything was ever begun, it was finished! Seek to stay on course throughout your journey on this planet. After death, there will be no more opportunity to choose for God. We have seen in Ephesians chapter one that God chose us before the foundation of the world to an inheritance loaded with benefits and blessings. Our Father knows what will make us happy. If we …delight…in the Lord, …He shall give (us) the desires of our heart [Psalms 37:4]. He has not called us to doleful servitude but to glorious ecstasy.
Since our destiny has been predetermined and ordained, the expected end has already been established. The only way to miss out on it is to choose poorly. God has all kinds of good things planned for us who choose to follow the course He has set. The good things of the expected end accord with His purposes in the creation [Ephesians 1:11]. So, what is our expected end, our destiny? For starters, He has planned for us to be Kings and rule with Him [Revelation 5:10]. Wow! What a destiny! That means we will receive a territory where we are in charge to rule like kings do. But never forget that Jesus is the King …of Kings [Revelation 19:16].
Secondly, He has planned for us to be Priests unto Him [Revelation 5:10]. Do you know what that entails? It means we have direct undiluted, unfiltered communion with the source of all things. Because of the blood of Jesus, we can come into His presence without being zapped or feeling guilty to requisition anything it takes to fulfill our role as ruler of whatever territory He has assigned to us. Reader this is awesome grace and unbelievable love. I cry out with Paul…
Who would have ever thought He would elevate such fragile created beings on a level so high as sons of God. The devil didn’t! Boy does this make him raging with envy. Joint heirship with Jesus means co-equality with things in common – having common ownership with the Son of God to the riches of heaven! Selah! What a prospect! Furthermore, …in the ages to come He (has planned to show) the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us…[Ephesians 2:7]. How could anyone neglect so great salvation [Hebrews 2:3]?
Even our mistakes God uses for His glory through testimonials to His loving forgiveness and restoration of our souls. In other words, when we get off course on the way to our chosen destiny, we can choose to make adjustments and continue on target to fulfill God’s will for our lives. David is a classic example. A primary reason he was so beloved by God is because he frequented the Way Station. Praise God for His mercy and goodness!
The Way Station is a necessity because very often we find that we have been taking an ill-fated course due to our immature thinking. Babies are lovable and their innocent mistakes are overlooked, but there comes a day when parents expect their children to exercise their own free wills to choose aright. Mistakes happen. Forgiveness follows. Nevertheless, sin crouches at the door waiting for a better opportunity to entangle a person in a yoke of bondage. Too often people refuse to heed warnings about the course they are on.
Most people know the course they are on though. Willful practice of sin leads to destruction. It may appear like there will be no reckoning, but sooner or later….sooner or later… the piper will be paid. Then your destiny will be found out. Will it be God’s chosen one that is filled with joy, peace, and pleasures for evermore? Or, will it be in the despairing city of hopelessness, which we saw in the first vision? Even though some of the people, like those in the cabin, knew they would ultimately make it to the city of God, they had to undergo the torments of the wrath of a holy God during the tribulational period. They had to endure despair because they chose not to inspect their reels.
Reader, we are closer now to the coming of the Lord than ever before. The signs of the times are everywhere. Jesus is soon to come snatch away His bride [1 Thessalonians 4:17]. Go to the Way Station if you need to and get rid of the sin in your life. You say that you are not doing anything bad nor doing anything different from what you see in most churches today? This is the place where you must choose to quit looking at other people and their experiences and go to the Word of God. Search out for yourself the way of God and your chosen destiny.
As I have addressed in the opening pages of the Interpretation, many churches today, and especially mega-churches, have bitten into the apple of worldliness. They are incorporating marketing strategies of consumerism into their model for church growth, and I submit that this is not God’s way. We ought not follow man’s devices but stick to the drawing power of the gospel of Christ. Taking surveys and inventories of what people want in a church, of how we can make them feel comfortable in order not to lose their interest is a compromise with grave consequences. Is this not self-serving? Does a user-friendly church honor God? Is it backdoor Christianity and will that really save? Are we more concerned with offending church attendees than with offending the gospel? Each person must answer for himself or herself these questions. To becloud the offense of the cross will lead Christianity down the road to the Interfaith holocaust. God’s way and the world’s way are at odds. 5
James calls people who are friendly with worldly attitudes and practices adulterers, enemies of God. Doing things that the world does is spiritual fornication. The world has become pleasure-mad and the church is following suit. Do we have time for pleasure when people are dying and going to hell? Hear our beloved John on the matter:
We are given clear instructions in the Bible as to what pleases God and what does not. Therefore, we are without excuse if we choose a wrong course to follow. Sin does not have to be preached against when the Word is known and understood. Just preach the Word line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, and there a little [Isaiah 20:10], and sin will be exposed. It then becomes a matter of choice.
At the risk of sounding legalistic, let me give you examples of how you can know if you are on course to your chosen destiny. You know what course you are on if you smoke. Health hazards about smoking abound. The same is true of drugs and alcohol. You know what course you are on if you slander, gossip, or back bite. Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap [Galatians 6:7]. You know what course you are on if you sleep around. Again, reports are replete about the health hazards of a promiscuous life style. They warn of physical diseases, emotional breakdowns, and financial quagmires. You know what course you are on if you keep going to work late or are sluggish about work output. Very soon, you may not have to put out any work at all. You know the course you are on if you keep on living beyond your means. It may be that suddenly your means may not even buy your daily bread. I think you get the point.
The first requirement for changing courses is to get rid of the sin in your life. No matter what it is, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins if we confess them [1 John 1:9]. This is a choice. Confession means admitting you did something wrong, acknowledging it to the Father. Acknowledgement is simply agreeing with the Father that it is sin. That is all it takes to get rid of it. But it will not do any good to confess it if you intend to commit it again. Remember that …to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin [James 4:17]. Getting to know what constitutes sin comes through perseverance in studying His Word.
Do not try to get rid of the sin in your life by flogging the flesh or doing penance. No, no. That is dwelling on the problem instead of the answer. As I mentioned earlier, you get rid of sin by walking in the spirit. Walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh [Galatians 5:16]. Quit concentrating on the flesh and concentrate on things of the spirit. How do you do that? You get into the Word of God and read about all the blessings and benefits you have been given as a child of God through Jesus Christ. It is your inheritance, and you ought to know what is there.
In the first place, you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ, so say: – “I am the righteousness of God in Christ at this very moment.” Go through the epistles and keep reading about the good things God has done for you. Then declare them out loud so that the devil can hear you declare your freedom from his bondages. As you do, he will realize his hold on you is dwindling. Keep on saying, “I am free from (whatever sin has its hold upon you) by the blood of Jesus.” “Thank God, I’m free because …the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death” [Romans 8:2]. Declare aloud that you are free from old habits. It is important that you let the devil know that you know these things. After you have spent time in the Word talking to yourself about the positive things God has done for you, your course will change, and you will be on your way to your chosen destiny without so many snares, mishaps, and detours.
