Prologue

Confirmation that this vision was from the Lord and a love letter for the church was immediate, for I had its interpretation within the hour of my receiving it. Not only was it for me a sweet-smelling savor of love that the Father would allow me to deliver this message with Jeannette to His children, but it also is a sweet-smelling savor of love for the church in the midst of a beckoning call for His beloved to repent and attend to holiness.

History shows that God always gives grace before judgment, and in the midst of turmoil, humanity is today being graced. If things look bad now, hope not to experience the terrorism that will prevail when the restrainer is gone and the man of sin takes over. Jesus ought to know since He is God, and He said, For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be [Matthew 24:21].

Jesus stands at the door of His patron saints of the Laodicean Church knocking for access so that He can come in and regenerate their backsliding hearts. They have moved off the course charted by the Philadelphians and have tired of dispersing to all the world God’s message of love and peace. They have gone the way of Solomon and allowed every false god to enter the sacred portals of Christendom’s kingdom. Furthermore, the Laodiceans have created for themselves a bed of ease and carelessness, catering to the whims of technological success, and roaming hither and yon to satisfy selfish desires of the flesh.

Jesus desires to come in and intimately fellowship with each Laodicean, if they will let Him, away from the hype and pleasures of the world. He wants to renew with them His covenant of love and devotion before He justifiably pours out judgment upon this godless, heathenistic, self-serving generation. He has said to the Laodiceans that as many as (He) loves (He) rebuke(s) and chasten(s); be zealous therefore, and repent [Revelation 3:19].

The word for love in the Laodicean Revelation synopsis is not ‘agape’, but ‘phileo’[3:19], the Greek word for affectionate rapport love, for a personal attachment to someone rather than an objective willful determination to love regardless of who a person is or what he does. This latter state of mind defines ‘agape’ and is not driven by the behavior or character of the recipient of love. Thus, it will be seen that this vision is a clarion call to the Laodiceans whom Jesus ‘phileo’ loves, encouraging them to change, to live the love life like Jesus, and to forget about this world’s goods so that they might not reap the consequences of God’s wrath on sin and this cosmic system.

A Cluster of Love Letters

The central and essential message in each of the reported visitations on our website is simple although delivered in cryptic ways through dark speeches. They are love letters to God’s children warning them to guard against being deceived by world events and the antichrist spirit. They are words from the Father’s heart of love to those people whose spirits are born from above, encouraging them to watch and pray and to carefully hold fast to the doctrine of Christ and the gospel of love that broke the barrier between God and men.

Dove with a Heart

They are also invitations to the lost, who cannot find answers to the reason for man, or for the failure of this world’s grandiose but faulted humanistic schemes to satisfy the heart hunger of man, to come to Jesus of Nazareth, the God of all comfort and peace, and find rest. The antichrist spirit is out to distort the truth that Jesus is the Christ and the only way into heaven and that no man comes unto the Father but by Him [John 14:6]. These visions and dreams are sent from the only true God to refute the antichrist spirit that denies Jesus is Lord and true Deity. This current visitation hones in on the same theme, and we deliver it to you in love and in the stead of our Lord Jesus Christ’s manifest presence.

Lee loves her Bible!
The Laodicean Love Memorandum

Jeannette had just closed her eyes to go to sleep at 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning of September 4th when she had a quick visitation from the Lord. A couple of hours later and miles away, while soaking up the early morning freshness on my patio, I unsuspectingly received its interpretation as I meditated in the Bible. It always thrills me when God works something unusual to synchronize and fuse His prophecy and its interpretation. Most of the messages on this website have been confirmed as belonging to the Lord through quirks having His signature on them. The exceptional thing here is that I received the answer to a message before I knew there was one!

  Background

I was communing with God about the very Scriptures that I later realized were the foundation of the interpretation to this vision. I received a phone call from Jeannette in the late morning that she had a spiritual visitation during the night, and it involved words in a language for which she has no frame of reference. After a few winks, she hurriedly went to the Internet for a Latin dictionary. Having been down this road before, she knew right where to go. Then, one by one, she tediously searched for the meanings of the words she had phonetically written down.

Shortly after receiving the vision with its chart by email, in early afternoon while praying over it, I knew that my meditations of that morning entailed the message of the Latin sentence I received. It is not for nominal Christians, but for those believers in the Laodicean endtime church who have been truly born again. Anyone who is cognizant of the Scriptures and of the times in which we live, cannot escape the conclusion that we have come full circle and are about to witness something big, exciting, and unstoppable within the body of Christ. As you will see, John’s second letter given by the Holy Spirit was to the first church, Ephesus, and is very similar to this vision sent by the Spirit to the last church, Laodicea. Jesus’ desire is that none of His people miss the glory that is coming, thus, the repeated warnings from God to us to you. In addition, anyone who is not in the heavenly Father’s family is invited to participate in the glory that is on the threshold of time by changing kingdoms and the spiritual lordship of his or her life. 1

Déjà vu

When I saw that the Lady in the vision was being interpreted in Latin, I immediately thought about the experience Jeannette and I had when the Lord gave us the message encompassed in a Latin sentence in the vision entitled 'Crossbeam'. If you will recollect, in that message something very unusual happened, which indicated to us that it must be put on the Internet as an endtime communication from the Lord. Because it is too lengthy to review here, I refer you to that page on this website 2 Suffice it to say here, that Jeannette received both messages in a language for which she has had absolutely no experience.

Nevertheless, because the Holy Spirit is the illuminator and revealer of things to come [John 16:13], He aided her memory so that she was able to write it down phonetically. To help us grasp this unlikely event, in both instances, the words were spoken slowly and twice giving her time to sublimate them into a phonetic sentence. Moreover, if the Spirit can open one’s eyes miraculously to see spiritual phenomena, He can open the ears to hear extraordinarily as well.

Like as in 'Crossbeam', we have another instance in which the Spirit enabled Jeannette to phonetically write down the words of the sentence with enough accuracy to receive the sense of the sentence. With this unintelligible ‘Rod of God’ and with the aid of Tufts University’s website 3 Jeannette amazingly found equivalent Latin words and their English meanings. I could not help her here because she was the one with the phonetic sounds in her memory. How do we know they were the correct equivalents? I maintain that it is because astonishingly, the interpretation was given to me in a divorced situation on the same day using the same word thoughts from Scripture as those derived from the definitions shown on the chart.

Because I wanted to be sure that we had done everything we could to be forthright and honest to God’s message, using a Latin to English dictionary, I checked to be sure that the English definitions were the correct equivalents of the Latin words. They were. Naturally, the words and their meanings can be construed in a number of different ways depending upon variations in syntactical structure. This was my immediate concern, and because the entire message is wrapped up in the sentence, unlike that of the first occurrence in ‘Crossbeam’, I thought that I might never have the legitimate interpretation from the Lord. It is easy to interpret something, the hard part is knowing if what you have is the correct one.

Since I am not literate in Latin either, I felt like there would have to be something unusual to signify to me that the interpretation, if I got one, was truly from God. In other words, there had to be a connecting link between the interpretation of the Latin words and its rightful message.

It is for this reason, I believe, that Jeannette and I have not found it odd to experience oddities in the Lord’s work! In the majority of cases, we have had strange inexplicable goings-on, which would confirm to us that God was working out His message for us. For the same reason I do not use the world’s dream dictionaries, books, thesauruses, or other such humanly devised categorizations of dream phenomena. If it is from the Lord, the Spirit of Truth will give the interpretation during prayer from revelation knowledge based upon the Scriptures.

I put no stock in the wisdom of this world. The wisest of men are not able to correctly interpret the secret things of God who said He would dwell in the thick darkness [1 Kings 8:12; 2 Chronicles 6:1] and speak in dark speeches [Numbers 12:8]. Why? It is because there is no light in them. Notice what Daniel said about the wisdom of men who are wise by the standards of this world – by inference there is no light in them:

  Daniel 2:20-23
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the
light dwelleth with him.

23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.

God, not men, reveals the deep and secret things and gives wisdom to those who wholly submit to and honor Him. Like Daniel, I immediately sought the Lord in prayer to see if He would reveal its meaning. He did, and it came rather abruptly. I will come to the meaning shortly. First let me say that many interpretations are possible regarding any vision or dream just as there are many interpretations of Scripture, but, in either case, there is only one true interpretation and everyone who is walking in the truth will know it [1 John 4:5].

To relieve the anxieties of newly born believers, one does not lose his salvation just because he is deceived and moving in error. The responsibility for deception lies with the instructor [Read 2 Timothy 2:11ff to the end of the chapter.] Nevertheless, there will come a point when we are without excuse if we do not study the Scriptures in order to confirm the teachings of our leaders [2:15].

There is only one Holy Spirit, and He is not schizophrenic giving different meanings to each of us. This is the essential thrust of this vision’s message. If there is one body, one Head, and one Holy Spirit, then everyone who is connected to the Head will receive the same truth from the Spirit of Truth and will concur in the one message of the gospel. Error will be made manifest by rightly dividing the Scriptures. Furthermore, the closer we get to perfection, the more believers holding to the true doctrine of Christ will agree with one mind and one voice, and the more they will confess that like Job, all of us have spoken for the most part in vanity and multiplied our words without knowledge [Job 35:13,16].

Our job is to search out a matter in the Bible looking for that degree of evidence necessary to convince the intellect of its truth or error. No one who honestly does this and who is de facto born again will fail to find truth because He has the Spirit of Truth residing in him. Jesus said that He is the truth [John 14:6], and Paul said that Jesus is made unto us wisdom [1 Corinthians 1:30]; so, if we just act like Jesus, walk in love, and live by Scripture, we cannot fail to know the truth and hence will become likeminded with our Beloved and toward each other.

The failure of the church is that the elect do not come to God for answers to everything. They do not search out a matter in the Wisdom of Days. Instead of making the Word first place for information, believers go to the word of psychologists, sociologists, scientists, historians, economists, politicians, physicians, and any other person deriving their expertise from knowledge acquired through the five senses. Unfortunately, most people would rather rely on the arm of flesh rather than trust God’s Word as final authority. The day is coming, however, and we are on the verge of it right now, when the true church will shine like the sun and all doubts that we are really the ‘suns’ of God will be dispelled for we will reflect His glory.

  Psalms 84:11-12
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
  The Message

The Connecting Link

  Romans 15:4-7
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another ACCORDING TO Christ Jesus:
6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Wherefore receive ye one another, AS CHRIST ALSO RECEIVED US to the glory of God.

How did Christ receive us? He accepted us while we were yet sinners and died for us [Romans 5:8] as ‘whosoevers’. …(W)hosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved [Romans 10:13]. We must accept each other according to the standard of Christ Jesus [verse 5 above] in unconditional love, not as sinning Christians, which is an oxymoron, but as Christians who sometimes sin and stumble. We must go the distance of dying for one another if needed. This is the likemindedness required of the church.

God is moving mightily to draw His bride back to her first love, which was lost in the opening century of the Common Era during the Ephesian Church period [Revelation 2:4]. Jesus’ admonition to the Ephesians was essentially the same as that of the Laodiceans – repent and do the first works. What were those first works? May I suggest it was loving one another as Christ loved us. The embryonic church moved in power because it moved in love. Faith works by love [Galatians 5:6], and it takes faith to move the mountains of despair caused by bondages [Matthew 17:20; Luke 17:6]. A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, … also love one another [John 13:34].

Love works no ill to its neighbor, so if we believe that our brethren are ensnared by wrong thinking or doctrinal error, we should be praying, like Paul, and expecting that God would give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him [Ephesians 1:17] so that they can become likeminded with us instead of contending and mouthing criticisms one against another. How can we bless and glorify God one minute [verse 6 above] and confound our brothers the next? Sweet water and bitter coming out of the same mouth is not glorifying to God and cannot produce the goodness expected of us [James 3:10,11]. Jesus said to either make the tree good or make it bad so that its fruit will be readily recognized for its value [Matthew 12:33].

I am convinced that what the Spirit was showing me that Thursday morning about likemindedness [v.5], speaking with one mind and one mouth [v.6], and receiving one another AS CHRIST RECEIVED US [v.7] was the connecting link between the vision and its interpretation. The Father knew I would be in this passage at this hour and that the Holy Spirit would be revealing to me things related to what it was going to take to present His church to the world as a glorious church before He comes for her and takes her home. Therefore, God visited Jeannette to establish the problem for which I was blindly formulating an answer!

The English Translation

Following is the meaning of the sentence that the Holy Spirit gave to me as I was praying over the vision. The asterisks beside the emboldened words denote the Latin words of the Lady’s message in English.

“This word* is granted* to you as indeed* a prophetic sign* (to all the world), that you stand upright* in (the darkness) of the night* as a light*(shining) out of* the real and genuine* (assembly of God) that is to come*, (likeminded) with a single* eye* (mind and mouth).”

If you will check the words with the chart in the vision preceding this interpretation, you will see that every word fits almost exactly where it lies on the chart. I did not experimentally jumbled them up nor work them trying to make them fit. Just as soon as I opened my eyes after praying for some time, my eyes instantly focused on the last two words of the chart – ‘one, single’ and ‘an eye’. In a burst of intellectual insight, the whole chart came together in one sudden swoop to make up the sentence as written above. Thus, the meaning of the sentence came together as a gestalt. 4 There was not the slightest doubt in my mind that it was a message God wanted to send to His church in these last days.

Single-heartedness Leads To Likemindedness

A further confirmation that the message is a call to visible unity comes from the Old Testament. For some time now, there is a phrase in Ezekiel 11:19 which has been uppermost in my meditations. I suspect that this unusual emphasis is happening in all the body of born again believers who are pressing in to know God more intimately and who are looking for the church to be gloriously displayed to the world before her Rapture. It is a spiritual awakening alerting the church that she is about to depart.

  Ezekiel 11:19
9 And I will give them ONE HEART, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh.

Most Bible scholars agree that this verse refers to the new era after the work of salvation was accomplished by Jesus on the cross. The verse is a prophetic token explaining to seekers of God that they can become new creations at salvation by virtue of the Spirit of God recreating the old dead spirit within the body. Until the penalty for insulting God’s holy right to be sovereign Lord of His creation was paid – the wages of sin is death [Romans 6:23], – this gracious offer of a way out of the awful consequences of sin was not possible. The affront to God’s holiness cannot be disallowed or denied by anyone. Even now each person must decide whether he will pay the wages of sin himself or accept Christ’s death as a substitute.

Immediate and vital contact with God was cut off to all humanity until Jesus’ substitutionary sacrifice paid the price of death and propitiated the integrity of God. The ransom having been paid, the hardened stony dead spirit in man has potential to become a sensitive heart of love. The dead spirit that was cut off from the life of God when sin entered into a man’s mind, is given, at regeneration, a sudden surge of eternal life, an electrical jolt, if you will, from the source of all life and man becomes a new creature [2 Corinthians 5:17]. He is born again.

One heart was the element of the Ezekiel Scripture that has arrested my attention for a long time. It was spoken first, before the promise of a new spirit. I believe it was first because it is the requirement for unity in the body of Christ. For all believers to be likeminded, there must be the same thought processes going on in the mind. If we are to be renewed in the spirit of our minds as Paul teaches we must [Ephesians 4:23], we will think alike on the heart issues of life, the fundamentals of living a life of love. As we study the Word, it becomes engrafted into our spirits and saves us from getting into error [James 1:21]. As our minds are renewed, we become more like Jesus every day and more likeminded toward each other.

The import of this verse in Ezekiel for this vision is this. Regeneration is the province of the Holy Spirit because He is the power source of God. He hovered over the creation before God spoke the words that brought it into existence [Genesis 1:2,3]. We are constantly reminded in the Bible that it is through the power of the Spirit that miracles occur [1 Corinthians 12:7-11].

The new birth is a virtual miracle because neither man nor nature can produce eternal life. The mighty Jesus could not perform this miracle at His Advent because the Spirit could not be given till after Jesus was glorified through resurrection [John 14:12; 16:13,14]. The goal of this digression is summed up in the following:

  1 Corinthians 12:13
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into ONE SPIRIT.

If we have been made to drink into one Spirit, then we all have the same Spirit of Truth dwelling inside us. Is this not what Ezekiel prophesied when he said God would give us ONE HEART? Now if we have the same Spirit inside us who created our hearts alike, then likemindedness should obtain. This is the plea of the Father in this vision. He is calling us to act like one body with a single mind and with one spiritual eye. Since the Holy Spirit is God and God is love, then we have the love of God dwelling in us. So we have no excuse for not acting in love.

The only way that we can do this is to become totally dedicated to doing the whole ‘Will’ of God as Jesus did. He said, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish His work [John 4:34]. Our Father is calling on us to follow His plan like Jesus did, WALK IN LOVE, and finish His work by getting this gospel into every nook and cranny and complete the body of Christ. Jesus has done His part. Now we must do our part. Anything short of this is selfishness and can be construed as not loving God. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me [John 14:24].

A Pearl of Great Price

It is the Father’s will for His people to come together in visible unity loving one another as Christ loved us so everyone can see that Jesus’ church is a special formation separate and distinct from the world. Her glorious destiny will have been accomplished when this happens.

She is seen by the heavenly hosts as a pearl of great price, formed through trials and tribulations like pearls are formed – from irritations against the host oyster. Satan is the god of this world system and the church is irritating him at great length. She alone is keeping him from ruling despotically. The secretions of oysters to produce a pearl are the result of a foreign substance rubbing against them inside their habitat. Is that not how the church has been formed?

For 2,000 years God’s elect have irritated satan and willingly undergone many martyrdoms, and still she marches on. The series of thin layers composing the pearl represents the accumulated years of continuous trials, which the devil has inflicted on the church trying to put out her light. The gates of hell, however, will not prevail against her [Matthew 16:18], and to the devil’s consternation, she continues to become more illustrious as she grows.

A pearl is actually a shell. It is slowly formed by thin layers of deposited secretions from an oyster irritated by a foreign substance, such as a grain of sand, which happened into the oyster’s shell. The alien body is coated with the secretions of calcareous matter (a type of calcium) forming a ball as it hardens. Even though precious, pearls are merely calcified matter to put it simply.

Before I learned that pearls were shells, I wondered why they were listed separately from jewels and precious stones in most passages of Scripture. I was not aware that they were mere shells in reverse order – the lustrous part on the outside and the shelly coat on the inside. This is abnormal to the human mind, but to the spiritual eye, it is miraculous. God created them to depict His glorious creation – the church, a precious object iridescently beautiful composed of all the colors of the skins of men.

Each member of the church is a miracle of God and undergoes much irritation from the world because the world dislikes abnormality. Because it cannot see into spiritual things, the world scorns the blood of the cross as unnecessary and offensive. Every victorious stand against the fiery darts of the wicked is a thin layer of lustrous matter that will eventuate into a goodly person, a pearl of great price for whom our Lord, the merchant, sold all He had to buy [Matthew 13:46]. The important thing about pearls is that the more the irritation, the more lustrous the pearl.

(Little irritation = little secretions = little pearls with less luster.)

Isn’t there a lesson here?

Each martyr has his or her beauty ensconced into the one great pearl of great price – the church. The greater the martyrdom and irritation, the greater the luster and glory to be revealed. Could it be that Jesus was recommending the lukewarm lackadaisical Laodiceans ask for trials, tribulations, and irritations so that they could participate in the final polishing of the church before it is removed in glory? He said, I counsel thee to ask of me gold tried in the fire so thou mayest be rich… [Revelation 3:18]. It is perhaps easier to rejoice in sufferings when we know they are necessary to the development of glory. Can you see that without endurance and the pressure put on the oyster, the pearl will not develop to its full potential?

In Sum

The interpretation of the Latin sentence and that of the Roman 15:4-7 passage is too close to be coincidental. The words in parenthesis in the translation were added for better clarity. Notwithstanding, the wholeness of the message is clear without them. The connecting link was the fact that the meaning of the sentence in the vision matched the passage of Scripture I was studying in the same time frame of the early morning hours. Had I been in some other portion of the Bible, there would hardly have been so beautiful a match between the message and my gestalt of the words.

Even though I had the connecting link between the sentence and the Scripture passage, I still needed confirmation that the message was indeed for the endtime church today. As soon as I focused on the Lady in the vision, I knew the interpretation was right because the Spirit referred me to the elect Lady to whom John wrote a letter.

The Confirming Factor

The Lady

Jeannette saw a well-dressed person whose demeanor gave the impression that she was a Lady. Often Jeannette has seen females in visions and dreams, but typically, she would say her interaction was with a woman. I asked why she used the word Lady in this case, and she assured me that she knew that this woman was a particular Lady and not merely a woman dressed in fine clothes. Clothes do not make the person; manners do, so I queried whether or not it might possibly have been some lowly, insignificant yet well-behaved and sincere woman delivering a message.

Because prophets and prophetesses work in the realm where words are less important than sensibilities, these people are more sensitive to intuitive things than are people who are more logically oriented. Thus, Jeannette was adamant and said emphatically that she knew she was a Lady of some importance. The reason Jeannette felt comfortable around her was that her behavior bespoke of a person of high breeding, properly taught in the protocols of civility. These persons know the proper behavior for every occasion.

The fact that the Lady frequently smiled while speaking also added to the comfortable friendly charismatic tenor of the whole message. This particular Lady was acting as a diplomatic courier on the level of an Ambassador. Indeed, as we shall see, she represents an Ambassador of the highest order delivering a message for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Consequently, the Lady signifies the true church of Jesus Christ of whom the first Lady to receive that title in the church was Jesus’ mother Mary. She is called ‘Our Lady’ all over the world. And, the fact that the interpreter spoke the words of the Lady in Latin, the universal language of the Catholic Church, signifies that she is bringing this message of truth with love to all who will listen. The Lady was the confirming factor to me that I had received the right interpretation of the sentence.

The Elect Lady

Many scholars agree that the elect lady in the second letter of the Apostle John represents the church. I suggest that the content of the message in John’s letter and that of the vision is similar. As noted, in the vision the Lady represents the true church and acts as an ambassador for the King. Because some who read this interpretation may not be Scripture taught, let me say that Paul teaches every member of the body of Christ is an ambassador for Jesus, commissioned to go and tell the world about His having reconciled the world to God [2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Matthew 28:19,20]. We are to tell people that God is no longer unapproachable because His justice and righteousness have been vindicated. Salvation is now a gift to anyone who wants it, but it is only obtained through a vital and real exchange of natures with Jesus Christ. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him [2 Corinthians 5:21].

Because the church responds to Jesus as the head, the feminine gender is used for the church throughout the New Testament. Hence, John cautiously used a pseudonym – the elect lady – to warn and instruct believers everywhere about dangers facing the church. In fact, we know from history that the times surrounding the letters he wrote were hostile. He himself would face severe persecution and even exile, so his letter was an encouragement to stay the course and not acquiesce to false doctrine.

Do we not live in similar times? Freedom to preach an uncompromising gospel is becoming more difficult with each year. In this respect, John’s second letter to the church in his day and the message of the Lady to the church today are similar, to wit, love one another [v.6], walk uncompromisingly [v.9] in the truth [v.4], and love heretical people from afar [v.10,11].

In the vision the Lady is speaking to her compatriots –individual saints all over the world who constitute the truly born again body of Christ. Jeannette stood in for these called-out saints since the Lady was speaking to Jeannette through an interpreter. As mentioned, the Lady was well mannered and prepared for her role. Ladies know what is required of them and the proper behavior in every situation. Does not the church also have a handbook full of the protocols of good manners bespeaking Royal Priests of God? Does the Book explain how to love one another, how to use the name of Jesus for power, and how to determine the spirit of truth from the spirit of error? Do we want people to say of us, ‘She was no lady!’?

Because the Lady is speaking to believers in every kindred, nation, and tribe, the interpreter used the universal language of the church in order to legitimize the message to believers in other lands that this prophetic word from the Lord is a call for all saints to do the first works of the first century.

The dispatch in the vision was given in Latin because Latin is the recognized universal language of the church around the world and has been for hundreds of years. It is still the official language used in the Catholic Church. The fact that Catholic means universal also helps to decipher that the message is for the entire Laodicean Church, the last church of the Church Age.

The call is out in all quarters of the globe to break down the walls separating denominations. Indeed brothers ought not be at odds with each other. Criticism and strife can devastate family unity, and are we not the family of God [Ephesians 3:15]? Any good father wants his children to be amiable and cooperative because life in a home is so much better when there is harmony and peace. These familial constructs are givens in any society. Therefore, we must find out how to love the brethren yet not forsake our covenantal vows to our Lord.

John wrote his letter to God’s elect everywhere exhorting them not to move off the truth of the doctrine of Christ and to keep the commandments of God, the major one being to love one another [v. 5,6]. In fact, we are commanded to love everyone [Romans 13:9,10]. John never did say to hate heretics nor do them disservice. All he said was not to cooperate with them in their endeavors and keep separate so as not to confuse the true gospel of Christ. Fellowshipping with unbelief can cause a person to loosen His grip on truth. Look at what happened to Adam. Jesus never hated His enemies. In fact, He died for them. What He did during His stay here was to try to correct their errors through teaching. That is how we are to act. Keep teaching the truth and in the end it will win.

John’s instructions in verses 10 and 11 is where the church is missing it today. Many of our leaders are confusing the issues by joining hands with those people who are obviously spreading untruths. We cannot be true to the fact that Jesus is the only way [John 14:6] if we say that other faiths are worshipping the same God we are. There is a price to pay for devotion and loyalty. Some people think it is too high a price because it may require our life.
