Interpretation: Top of the World

Front Door vs Back Door

Jesus came into the world by the front door with a flesh and blood human body produced by the seed of the woman. This gave Him legitimacy to die for the sins of the world and take control of it. Contradistinctively, satan came into the world a crooked way.

Door of the sheep

  John 10:1-2
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

Verse one above infers that Satan borrowed the body of a serpent, crawled up a back wall of the garden, and illegally stole control of earth. He is illegitimately ruling earth at this time, but, because God is not a liar and honors His Word regarding the lease He gave to Adam, the devil still has some time left to control things.

The sheepfold is the human race. From verse two above, we see that Jesus came into the earth legally with a flesh and blood human body. Satan is the thief of verse one who got into the earth by using the body of a serpent.

I repeat, he needed a physical body. In the beginning of the creation, the Bible indicates that God ordained that spirits should not make contact with this physical world. Those that did leave their first estate in Jude 6 are chained up in Tartarus, the lowest region of hell awaiting judgment. God has separated the natural from the supernatural and has decreed boundaries. Hence, evil spirits have supernatural power but it does them no good unless they can manifest that power through physical bodies. Can you see now why Jesus called satan in verse one above a robber and implies that he has control of earth illegitimately?

Do you also see why it is foolish to be afraid of spirits? It is only when a person opens himself up to demonic influence and possession that they have power over people. Because Jesus has stripped them of their authority with His resurrection, they desperately want to steal the Word of God from the minds of people so that people will not know how naked the devils are. With God’s Word (Jesus is the Word of God) and the Holy Spirit’s indwelling, every born-again believer is more than a match for satan. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world [1 John 4:4].

Understanding the foregoing is important to understanding why satan’s image in the form of a statue in the vision is sitting on top of the world. To reiterate, the statue represents satan who has authority over the earth. However, a day is coming very soon when that authority will be over. In fact, we see in the vision that God has already begun the work of dismantling satan’s rule.

Summary of Back Door

Satan became ruler of earth in the Garden of Eden when Adam turned it over to him. In doing so, Adam in effect forced God to temporarily step back and regretfully watch the angel Lucifer dismantle, degrade, and deface His beautiful creation. Lucifer has messed things up here in the material world in like manner that he did in the heavenly supernatural world. How do we know this? Does not the Bible say that this material world is a shadow of heavenly things [Hebrews 8:5]? God was no longer in control of earth after turning authority over to Adam. Adam was no longer in control after turning authority over to satan. Had God reneged on the contract He made with Adam, He would have incurred discredit and sunk to the level of liars.

Thank God, He is smarter than satan and devised an ingenious plan that would forever throw the accusations of satan and wicked heavenly hosts out of the supreme court of heaven. The tree of life in the garden that satan illegally and deceptively stole away from God was protected by God’s holy angelic cherubs and would subsequently become the tree of satan’s demise.

1 Peter 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Satan’s doom is certain, so let’s see look at the vision to learn how God is working his defeat.

Two Major Blows to Satan's Kingdom
Having established that the statue Jeannette saw in the vision was an image of the ruler of the world, Lucifer, the rest of the vision’s elements is readily decipherable to anyone who is knowledgeable about God’s Word. If you will recall, God told Jeannette to make two blows to the image’s knees, which she did. The third blow, however, was never exacted. She was only in the process of doing so when the vision ended. The question we need to have answered is of what were the blows representative?
Jeannette reports that the image was composed of glass with iron bands around the joints. Why glass and not some metallic substance like the image King Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream in the book of Daniel? Jeannette’s image is definitely reminiscent of the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar, the prideful ruler of Babylon, built with which to honor his god of worldly materialism.

Take note that there were two images referred to in the book of Daniel; and. we must keep them straight in order to understand our vision. The first image appears in the King’s dream in chapter two, which troubled him. He had forgotten the dream [Daniel 2:5] but was so troubled in spirit because of it that he demanded the wise men not only interpret the dream but also declare the dream’s contents to him. They could not. How could they without having heard from the King what he had dreamed? Ah! But, there is a God in heaven who reveals deep and secret things when He so pleases. He knows what is in the dark because light dwells within Him [Daniel 2:22]. Therefore, Daniel called upon Him for the answer to the King’s demand.

I suggest you read chapters 2 and 3 of Daniel to get the full benefit of what these images symbolize. This will help you see how the image Jeannette saw is a message from the Lord that God is in the process of dismantling satan’s illegal control of earth. The process began immediately upon God’s prophesying that the seed of the woman would bruise the head of the serpent in Genesis 3:15.

When the wise men of Babylon were unable to reveal the dream to King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel inquired of the Lord God of Israel who gave the dream and its interpretation to Daniel. God had this planned all along. He wants men to know that only He can reveal …what shall be in the latter days [Daniel 2:28]. So, our omniscient Father gave the dream revelation to a King of renown who would have it secured for posterity among his tablets of wisdom. Not only was it preserved but, because God gave the interpretation to Daniel who became prime minister of Babylon as a result of being able to answer the King’s request to know the dream, the revelation knowledge about subsequent kingdoms of the world would be dispersed, albeit slowly, throughout the Babylonian Empire.

So the first image appears in chapter two of the book of Daniel and is the one God gave to Nebuchadnezzar in a dream, while the second image appears in chapter three as a huge monument constructed by Nebuchadnezzar to his colossal ego. I’ll come back to the first image shortly. The second image was a reflection of the King’s egoism. Idols are merely representative icons of people’s inward desires. Idolaters hope the little (or big) gods they have constructed in their imaginations and fashioned with their hands will show them favor among men.

When Nebuchadnezzar heard that he was the head of gold in his dream’s image, he became narcissistically prideful. This state of mind was reflected in the gigantic golden statue he constructed to the revelation that he was the head of gold in the dream’s image. God has revealed through Jeannette’s vision that satan is of like mind as King Nebuchadnezzar was when he constructed the enormous statue ninety feet high and nine feet wide. In support of this contention, Isaiah likens the King of Babylon to Lucifer in the fourteenth chapter [verses 4,12-14]. All biblical scholars agree that this passage is a comparison of the King of Babylon with Lucifer. Therefore, Jeannette saw a monumental statue sitting on top of the world depicting the devil’s pridefulness as ruler of the world.

Nevertheless, satan’s rulership is flimsy and has already begun to crumble. Signs of it are seen by the fact that the world’s economic system is flawed and designed to fail. It is geared to make the rich richer, to keep the poor subservient to the people with money, and to bring control of everything into the hands of a few. Because the subject of capitalism has been addressed in several other visions’ interpretations, I will not delve into it again.

However, just as a reminder, in the last interpretation on this website, to a vision entitled ‘Court,’ there is an addendum in which I showed that this world system is lacking God’s approval and will be terminated with a cleansing fire. This will become the final and third blow that Jeannette was about to make. She woke up prior to striking the chisel because the set time has not yet come. After the fire bath [Zechariah chapters 12-14], the Kingdom of God will appear in righteousness and true holiness. Justice and judgment will be its hallmark [Isaiah 9:6,7].

King Nebuchadnezzar’s image as well as the one in the vision Jeannette had both represent the god of materialism. Lucifer had an insatiable desire for wealth in heaven, which was the cause of his fall there, and he lusts to rule and own everything here on earth.

The reason the image Jeannette saw was made of glass was because God was revealing through this visitation that satan’s kingdom is delicate and brittle. It is not like the stone depicting God’s heavenly Kingdom that will fill the whole earth and remain forever [Daniel 2:34,35]. The god of this world is not a rock like our Rock, Christ Jesus.

Deuteronomy 32:3-4

3 …I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Bible: Daniel fullied

Satan is weakened and paralyzed now because of the work of Jesus on the cross and his kingdom cannot stand the blows that God has devised in order to repossess the earth.

The two blows Jeannette made just above the knee portray the two major setbacks the devil has sustained that God has already implemented. Each one weakened his authoritative hold on the planet. In fact, after the first blow, satan had to send in troops to support his rule, and after the second one he needed even more powerful ammunition to counter God’s might. I’ll come back to that. We did not see the last blow because it has not yet happened, but we can be confident that it is near at hand because we saw Jeannette’s arm draw back to strike.

The pieces of glass that fell upon the earth causing it to topple and wobble illustrate that satan cannot hold his act together anymore. His authority has been stripped away with the second blow and he is about to lose his grip on everything. The world is in a mode of terrorism that even the devil cannot control. Everything is going haywire. Even when satan becomes the unseen ruler of the final revived Roman Empire during the tribulation period, he will not be able to keep all peoples in line with his program. Read the book of Revelation closely and you will see that he will have all kinds of problems coming at him from all directions that he is incapable of handling successfully. After all, he is not God and can only be in one place at one time.

The only reason satan’s Antichrist ruler comes on the scene with a little power in the beginning of the tribulational period is because at that point in time, the righteous ones, who are restraining him now with their prayers and their use of Jesus’ Power of Attorney, will have been taken out of the way of God’s judgment of this world. Satan’s tremendous opposition he is incurring now will have disappeared temporarily.
